Neuro-affirming Support for Every Age and Stage

Our Mission

At Keepsake Educational Services (KES), our mission is to provide neuro-affirming, inclusive support that meets every learner where they are. We are committed to honouring neurodiversity by recognizing and valuing each individual’s strengths, identities, and ways of learning. Through evidence-based practice, compassionate collaboration, and culturally responsive approaches, we support learners, families, and educators in creating environments where people feel seen, respected, and capable of success.

What sets KES apart is not just what we do, but how and where we do it.

We provide support in-home, at school, and in the community — bringing qualified care directly to the environments where life actually happens. For families managing daily challenges like meltdowns, multiple appointments, and competing responsibilities, having support come to you is not a convenience; it can be the difference between feeling overwhelmed and feeling supported. It reduces transitions, builds skills in real-world settings, and helps children and adults practice strategies exactly where they need to use them.

This approach also reflects a core belief behind KES: support should adapt to people’s lives, not the other way around. By meeting families where they are, we reduce barriers, lower stress, and make care more accessible — including helping keep services more financially attainable; Cost shouldn't be a

barrier to getting the support you need.

At its heart, KES exists to create equity, accessibility, and belonging in neurodiversity support, ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to grow, thrive, and reach their full potential.

Our Story

Amelia Hone, Clinical Director of Keepsake Educational Services, has been supporting families in the Ottawa Valley since 2019 and working in the field since 2009. As someone who is neurodivergent and lives with a disability, Amelia understands firsthand how difficult it can be to access support that feels timely, respectful, and truly human — especially when families are already overwhelmed by waitlists, costs, and systems that feel hard to navigate.

Over time, she saw the same pattern again and again: families doing everything “right” and still falling through the cracks, and care that too often felt clinical, rushed, or disconnected from real life. That experience — both personal and professional — is what led her to ask a simple but urgent question: what would it look like if support actually met families where they are, instead of making them work harder to access it?

That question became the foundation of Keepsake Educational Services. Today, we provide in-home, neuro-affirming support across the Ottawa Valley, offering care that is compassionate, accessible, and grounded in evidence — while always centering the lived realities of the people we serve.

Keepsake Educational Services provides services virtually across Ontario and in person throughout Ottawa, the Ottawa Valley, Mississippi Mills, Lanark County, and Kingston.

We come to you to reduce barriers and create natural learning opportunities in everyday environments — at home, in the community, and in home daycare settings.

Our client-led, neuro-affirming ABA therapy focuses on building meaningful, socially significant skills while respecting each child’s individuality, communication style, strengths, and autonomy. ABA is an evidence-based practice that supports skill acquisition and positive behaviour change through compassionate, play-based, and relationship-centred approaches tailored to each learner’s needs and goals.

Keepsake Educational Services is an Ontario Autism Program (OAP) eligible provider. Psychology oversight is also available for families seeking reimbursement through extended health insurance plans.

We support individuals and their caregivers across the lifespan, from early childhood through adolescence and adulthood, with services individualized to meet each person’s unique needs, interests, and stage of life.
